Veermata Jijabai Technical Institute Mumbai University (VJTI) is a public engineering college in Mumbai, India. It was founded in 1887 by Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy, and is one of the oldest technical institutes in Asia. The institute offers undergraduate and graduate courses in engineering and technology. The VJTI campus is located in Matunga, central Mumbai. The institute has a student population of over 10,000, and employs over 1,500 faculty members. It is affiliated with the University of Mumbai, and awards degrees jointly from both institutions. The VJTI library is one of the largest technical libraries in Asia, with over 150,000 books and journals. It also houses a digital library which contains over 2 million documents. The VJTI alumni association has more than 50,000 members spread across 120 countries.
