Sri Venkatesa Perumal College of Engineering & Technology has attained academic autonomy from the academic year 2008-09. It is the first private college in Andhra Pradesh to do so. Academic autonomy has helped the college to introduce cross-departmental and industry oriented subjects in the curriculum. The Institute offers Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Production Engineering. The Institute is spread over an area of 7 acres (28,000 m2), the academic area consists of four major buildings. The college organizes state, national, and international conferences and events. The FUNGAMA is the annual function; this annual event is a mixture of cultural, technical and sporting competitions, where students from colleges across India come to participate.
Sri Venkatesa Perumal College of Engineering & Technology also offers post-graduation courses as Master in Computer Applications (MCA), Master of Technology (M.Tech) in Mechanical (Heat Power, Design), Computer Science & Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Instrumentation & Control. A doctor’s degree is awarded in the following fields: Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering. The college has a Department of Self Development (DoSD) that handles campus placements. The college has about 2800 students, 225 faculty members, 67 laboratories, and 150 administrative and supportive staff.
The campus has a canteen that remains open during the college hours, and an auditorium. The students’ hostel and the sports ground are off-campus, on an area of 10 acres. The hostel is equipped with Wi-Fi for students and a mess. It is located about 1.5 km from the academic area. The Institute has signed Student Exchange Program with colleges with many worldwide universities.
