Dhanraj Baid Jain College is the first Govt sponsored college in Chennai. It was founded by the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1999 in the southern part of Thorapakkam, Chennai.
It is affiliated with the University of Madras. The college provides well qualified and dedicated lecturers to train its students in accomplishing their target and to provide quality education. The College offers following under-graduate courses- Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com), and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.). Candidates qualified in 10+2 / equivalent examinations from a recognized board / council are eligible to apply for the course. For admission, Eligible candidates are selected based on direct admission. Merit of the candidate in the qualifying exam is also considered at the time of admission.
Dhanraj Baid Jain College consists of great infrastructure with latest facilities for both faculty and students that includes a canteen, Banking and ATM facilities within the campus. The institute organizes many extracurricular events as Debate competition, Drama and Film club. The institute encourages participation in sports among students and Students have the facility of indoor & outdoor games e.g. cricket, football, basketball, tennis, table-tennis, badminton, volleyball etc along with a gymnasium with latest equipments.
The institute organizes cultural fests for students which are managed by student groups and committees to improve their management skills. Dhanraj Baid Jain College provides facilities like internet connectivity, gymnasium, and sports ground, well equipped library that consists of more than 12,000 books in addition to many journals and magazine subscriptions. Industrial visits, guest lecturers and training cell are organized for management students to sharpen their skills and to guide them through placement process.
