The University Commerce College was established in December 1956. The College was initially started in a wing at Maharaja’s college campus. Later it moved to Government Poddar School, Gandhi Nagar. The College was accredited as one of the constituent college of University in 1963. the college conducts following courses- Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.), Bachelor of Commerce (ATP), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA). The Commerce College also conducts Certificate Course in Steno Typing (Hindi & English) in the college campus. The various subjects combination available includes- Ele. Computer Applications, Environmental Studies, General Hindi/Elementary Hindi, General English, while optional subjects includes ABST, EAFM, Computer Applications (Vocational), and Business Administration.
The University Commerce College has successfully organized All-India Commerce Conference twice, in 1977 and 1995, along with a national level seminar on 'Business Leadership in India' (1968), and 'International Monetary Development' (1972). In recent years, college has also organized some infamous seminars on 'Changing Perspectives in Management Educa-tion' (2004), and on "Globalisation and Changing Business Environment in India' in year 2000. The internet lab cum computer center of the college includes Air-conditioned hall with 60 systems connected to the internet using LAN network connection. The college has established a Career Counselling and Placement Centre for students to guide them about their career and to provide them with necessary training and placement services. The College campus is equipped with modern facilities and latest facilities included labs.
