Amity Institute of Biotechnology

Amity Institute of Biotechnology was established with a view to promote research and development activities in bioinformatics and biotechnology, with a focus on creation of high quality research environment and human resources. B R D College is situated on the campus of Sardar Patel University campus, Anand, Gujarat. The Institute offers 5 year integrated Master of Science (M.Sc.) course in Bio-technology, 6 year integrated M.Tech Bio-technology, 2 year Master of Science in Virology, Ph.D. in Bio-technology. The Institute organized National Conference on recent Trends in Biotechnology and Industry-Academia Interaction 2010, All India Cell Biology Conference, Conference on Recent Trends In Modern Biology and many other academic seminars and events.
Amity Institute of Biotechnology offers rich infrastructure and modern facilities. An independent premises for IBB will be functional in the near future which has a total area of 30,000 sq. ft. and will house the classrooms, research and M. Sc. laboratories, library, faculty rooms, administrative offices, store rooms etc.
The institute offers post-doctoral fellowships (Research Associate) positions of two years duration, which are extendable, subject to project evaluation. These fellowships are also awarded from the Institutional funds and funded projects in the Institute as per the availability. IBB has been sharing the classrooms and laboratories with various departments on the campus such as the Bioinformatics Centre, Department of Microbiology, Department of Zoology, Department of Chemistry, Department of Botany etc. It has also been utilizing the laboratories of the Department of Physics & Department of Chemistry at the Fergusson College, Pune.
