ABOUT

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is a professional accounting body in India. It was established on 1 July 1949 as a national body to regulate the profession of chartered accountancy in India. The ICAI is responsible for setting standards and regulating the practice of chartered accountancy in India.
The ICAI has over 2,50,000 members and 4,00,000 students. It has offices in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Chandigarh and Kanpur.
The ICAI offers various courses at different levels which are designed to train students in all aspects of accounting and auditing. It also conducts exams twice a year which leads to the award of the prestigious CA designation.
The ICAI is recognised by the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) and plays an important role in shaping global accounting standards.
